JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is a well-known manga title written and illustrated by Hirohiko Araki. The series began in 1987 and continues to run as an ongoing weekly series. By April of 2020, Mr. Araki had published a total of 941 chapters, which have been collected into 127 tankōbon volumes.

The series focused on the members of the Joestar family, whose descendants all have a star-shaped birthmark on their left shoulder blade. The first six parts of the series centered around the rivalry between Jonathan Joestar and Dio Brando. That latter two parts take place in an alternate reality, where the Joestar family is altered in numerous ways.

The series has been celebrated for its unique art style and poses, but also for its frequent references to popular music and fashion of Western culture. Since it was first published, more than 100 million copies have been sold, making it one of the best-selling manga series ever produced.

The franchise that grew up around JoJo's Bizarre Adventure includes novels, video games, TV anime, and a live-action film. The series is ongoing and continues to appear in Ultra Jump magazine on a weekly basis.
