Number of Chapters: 1,960

Number of Volumes: 200

Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen Mae Hashutsujo may be a mouthful in Japanese, but it's no slouch in English either, as it translates into "This is the Police Station in Front of Kameari Park in Katsushika Ward." Fortunately, it's easily shortened into "KochiKame" by fans. The series was written and illustrated by Osamu Akimoto from September 1976 until September 2016.

When the series came to an end, 1,960 chapters had been published by Weekly Shōnen Jump for 40 years. All of those chapters have been collected into 200 tankōbon volumes, making it the second-longest manga series of all time in terms of volumes, earning a Guinness World Record for "Most volumes published for a single manga series" in 2016.

KochiKame is centered around a neighborhood police station in the present day and is set in the downtown area of Tokyo. It primarily focuses on the misadventures of a middle-aged police officer named Kankichi Ryotsu. KochiKame is an incredibly popular series, as the characters are widely loved by fans.

KochiKame has been adapted into three anime films, one anime television film, and an anime series that ran from 1996 until 2004 for a whopping total of 382 episodes.
