3. Guardians Of The Galaxy

Guardians of the Galaxy is yet to live up to the heights of Donny Cates' previous work on Thanos, Cosmic Ghost Rider and Venom, but give it enough time, and it's sure to blossom into something special.
On a purely surface level, the team Cates has assembled for the latest incarnation of the Guardians is brilliant. Joining usual suspects Star-Lord and Groot are Cosmic Ghost Rider, Beta Ray Bill, Moondragon and Phyla-Vell, and it just... works.
Accompanied by artist Geoff Shaw, Cates has managed to breathe new life into the Guardians after the a few years seemingly spent in the wilderness. If they can manage to make this a definitive line-up though, it's sure to be the start of something special.

In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
