10 Marvel Characters Most Likely To Be Killed Off In Civil War II

10. Thor

While the new Thor series starring a female God of Thunder has been well-received by fans, it's inevitable that the original Odinson will once again wield Mjolnir before too long, especially as Jane Foster is dying from cancer. When she's not battling as Thor, Jane's mortal body is quickly succumbing to that illness, so rather than having her die slowly from the disease or magically cure it, falling in battle feels like a much better idea. After all, Civil War II opening with the death of such a major player in the Marvel Universe would help this series feel like a big deal, and has much greater ramifications than when the New Warriors died in the original. The fact that a clone of Thor was responsible for the death of Goliath in that story would also feel like karmic retribution of sorts, and could explain the motivations of the hero who takes her out. With the way Asgardians die and are constantly reborn, the door would be left open for Jane to return somewhere down the line, so it's not as if Marvel would be saying a permanent goodbye to one of their better recent creations.
