With The Totally Awesome Hulk series slowly revealing the status of Bruce Banner in the Marvel Universe, it remains to be seen what's become of him now that Amadeus Cho is apparently the only Hulk in this world. Assuming that Banner is attempting to once again transform himself into the Green Goliath, it makes sense that someone would murder him before he gets the chance to cause untold chaos as The Hulk. His death - after a string of attempted solo series' which failed to take off despite featuring massively different status quos for the character - also takes him off the board for the spotlight to be placed firmly on Cho. Whether we're talking about World War Hulk or any of the other times Bruce has unleashed the Jade Giant and killed countless innocents, he's such a potentially massive threat that it would be easy enough to understand why someone would put him down to stop that from happening again. He's also a big enough name to generate the kind of publicity Marvel likes, and his death would definitely send out shockwaves.
