Lee Price was a nasty piece of work, and one who was - remarkably - way too nasty for Venom.
Having bonded with the suit in the wake of a gang deal gone south, Price bends it to his own will, killing all who uncover his secret even as the symbiote itself protests his decisions. He eventually gets involved with the FBI, but when his cover's exposed, it forces the agency to rope in Eddie Brock to track Price down.
Price then returns as Maniac after stealing the symbiote from Andrea Benton, who was working alongside Flash Thompson as Mania. It's his time as Venom that concerns us here though, with Spider-Man having actually managed to rip the symbiote from Price by proclaiming his desire to rejoin it in a confrontation with the villain.
Of course Peter was bluffing, but it was another event where he and Brock came together to outfox a symbiote user, even if Price himself would return to terrorise both characters later down the line.
