10 Marvel Pets You Wish You Could Adopt

The brilliant duo of Matt Fraction and David Aja gave us a lot of great things when they got together for Hawkeye, but they don't get nearly enough praise when it comes to Pizza Dog and his story.

During issue #1, Clint drops a severely injured dog onto a vet's counter. Despite it not being his dog, Barton insists money is no concern, he just wants the dog to survive. As the issue plays out, we learn more and more about how he ended up in this odd situation.

Lucky was tragically caught up in a fight between Clint and a gang of Russians. The dog belonged to the Russian thugs, but had come to Clint's aid after he gave him some pizza. Sadly, during the chaos, Lucky was hit by a car.

The vet listed Lucky's injuries and had to inform the former Avenger that the most likely result was for the dog to be put to sleep. This didn't sit well with Barton and in an angry tirade, insisted they try everything they could to keep the dog alive.

Thank goodness he did. Lucky pulled through and has been a loyal companion to both Hawkeyes ever since.
