10 Marvel Supervillains Who Almost Destroyed The Avengers

Scarlet Witch, AKA Wanda Maximoff, has spent the vast majority of her comics history on the right side of the law and fighting alongside The Avengers. However, given the excessive amount of power at her fingertips, she's also never been exactly the safest bet on the team. Several times throughout the comics, Scarlet Witch has turned on The Avengers and nearly defeated them all.

The most notable of these came during the Avengers Disassembled, where she learned from a slightly-drunken Wasp that she once had children with Vision, twins Thomas and William, a fact that had been hidden from her for years. This revelation does not sit well with Scarlet Witch and leads to her using her powers to tear the entire team apart.

She brings the recently-deceased Avengers villain, Jack of Hearts, back from the dead and sends him to the Avengers mansion only to then blow him up, killing Scott Lang in the process. She also has Vision crash the Quinjet into the Avengers Mansion before forcing him to cough up pieces of himself that turn into Ultrons. As a result of this, She-Hulk rips Vision in-half, killing him.

Lastly, she then instantly makes some Kree warships appear and attack, leading to the death of Hawkeye. In the aftermath of all of this, The Avengers did in fact split-up for a period of time before inevitably reassembling and continuing on.
