10 Marvel Supervillains Who Almost Destroyed The Avengers
7. Ghost Rider
Ghost Rider is yet another character with a checkered-at-best past with the Avengers, flipping from friend to enemy pretty frequently. However, his greatest stand against the Avengers came in the form of Avengers #214, which features a story all about how mad Johnny Blaze gets when someone cuts him off in traffic. Actually.
Deep in the deserts of New Mexico, X-Men member Angel cuts Johnny Blaze off in his sports car, which enrages Johnny to the point that he sets Ghost Rider free and just allows him to wreak havoc on both Angel and anyone else who happens to be in the way. The Avengers are busy dealing with some internal problems of their own at the time, seeing as this was just after Hank Pym's rather infamous hitting of Janet Van Dyne, but they come to Angel's aid nevertheless.
And Ghost Rider proceeds to trounce them. He beats Captain America and Tigra in hand-to-hand combat, shoots Iron Man out of the sky with a fireball and hits Thor in the face with his motorcycle.
Eventually the Avengers overcome and calm him down, but they are all way worse for wear by the time it's over.
