10 Massively Underrated Marvel Villains
3. Typhoid Mary
While Kingpin and Bullseye are considered Daredevil's best villains, Typhoid Mary is often overlooked.
Mary Walker suffers from severe dissociative identity disorder and has three other personalities. There's the quiet and timid Mary, the lustful and violent Typhoid and the brutal and sadistic Bloody Mary.
As Typhoid and Bloody Mary, she is a mutant with tekekinetic and pyrokinetic abilities and is a well trained martial artist. She often uses her skills as an assassin for the Kingpin.
Typhoid Mary has a pretty complex relationship with Daredevil. In her first appearance, she was hired to kill him. However, she also began dating him as her Mary persona. Unfortunately, the more violent personalities won out and she ended up leading a team of mercenaries against Matt.
Their love-hate relationship has definitely slid more towards hate in recent years. Mary discovered that Matt was actually the one who caused her to become Typhoid Mary. At the very start of his career, Daredevil chased a criminal into the brothel where Mary worked. He attacked the criminal, but was surprised by the girls there jumping in to stop him. In the ensuing chaos, Mary was knocked out of a window.
The trauma of that incident caused her mind to snap and she became Typhoid Mary.
