10 Mind-Blowing Facts You Didn't Know About Black Panther
2. He Wore The Infinity Guantlet
With Avengers Infinity War coming off the heels of Black Panther this summer, many are prepared to see the Mad Titan Thanos weld the legendary Infinity Gauntlet for the first time on the big screen. The Gauntlet, which is merely a host for the infinity stones, (or gems) allows its user to control the mind and soul, to warp reality, traverse time and space, and gives them incredible power.
Thanos is the most prolific holder of the gauntlet, but not the only one. The incredibly powerful artifact has found its way onto the hands of heroes and villains alike, and on one occasion it was welded by King T’Challa himself. He does so in the 2008 story arc Secret Wars, in which an all powerful Dr. Doom holds dominion over Battleworld, a patchwork planet made up of countries he governs.
When Doom’s right hand Dr. Strange is killed for treason, he manages to send a prerecorded message to Panther about the existence of an Infinity Gauntlet, which can be used to defeat Victor. With his friend’s help, Black Panther manages to find and use the gauntlet and help the resistance overthrow Dr. Doom.
