10 Moments Comic Book Characters Realised THEY Were The Villain

6. Two-Face - Batman #653 (2006)

Green Lantern Emerald Twilight
DC Comics

Even though Two-Face has killed dozens of people, you can't help but feel sorry for Harvey Dent. If it wasn't for his split personality and the horrific courtroom attack that left him scarred, it's doubtful he would've ever turned towards a life of crime.

This theory was put to the test when Dent had reconstructive surgery, seemingly ridding himself of his dark side. Batman was so proud of his friend's recovery, he allowed the former DA to fight crime alongside him. When Bats took a one-year hiatus abroad, he designated Dent as Gotham's primary protector.

When Batman came back, he discovered a string of murders consistent with Two-Face's MO, insinuating that Dent had reverted to his murderous tendencies. Although Dent was innocent, he was shaken that he had lost Batman's trust once more.

As his rage built up, the persona of Two-Face resurfaced and encouraged Dent to embrace his evil side. Believing no one would ever accept him as a hero, Dent voluntarily scarred his face and returned to his murderous lifestyle. He made this decision on the flip of a coin.
