There is a history of sexual assault throughout the comic book industry that is far too sad and far too long for anybody to be comfortable talking about. The vast majority of these instances project a superpowered man abusing his power, however this isn't always the case.

The most infamous case with the typical roles reversed is Tarantula’s assault of Nightwing. Batman’s former protégé took on a protégé of his own in Tarantula, though her morals weren’t quite on the same level as his.

After Nightwing was flattened by Blockbuster, Tarantula killed the villain. In Nightwing’s incapacitated state, she took it upon herself to have sex with him in spite of his begging her to stop. She didn’t stop and showed no remorse for the complete violation of another human being against their will.

She even asked her mentor to marry her days later, and he was too scared to say no (at first at least). Again, as with all of the entries on this list, the imagery of the scene is tough to look at. The silhouette against the pouring rain somehow makes this scene hit much harder than it could have done otherwise.
