10 Most Badass Daredevil Moments
4. Becoming Kingpin
At the close of a storyline that is justifiably titled Hardcore, Brian Bendis had an idea for Daredevil that, while not uncommon for the character, is always unexpected - namely for him to go absolutely mental.
This results in a series of moves that wouldn't be considered Murdock's most ethical - the most important of these being him essentially stealing Kingpin's title and role after a hardcore beatdown. Ironically, we learn that Matt’s vicious methods do actually work in terms of cleaning up Hell’s Kitchen, making the whole thing uncomfortable, but admittedly badass.
A large part of this results from the stone cold speech Daredevil gives over Kingpin’s unconscious body. It’s somewhere between Liam Neeson's monolgoue in Taken and a scene from The Godfather, and does a startlingly good job in letting you know how unnervingly serious Daredevil has just gotten.
Although the act pretty much takes a nuke to every single meaningful relationship Daredevil has ever had, him taking the plunge and becoming a mob boss to try and fix the neighborhood is badass, even if it's also entirely self-destructive.
