10 Most Badass Wolverine Moments

One of the boldest decisions made in all of Marvel comics in the last several years was rebooting the entire X-Men with the excellent House of X series...and then killing off their most popular character by issue four.

Granted, a LOT of people die in the inaugural Mother Mold storyline of Hickman's epic X-Men tale, but the climax of this story features Marvel's most famous mutant going out in a blaze of glory, which is by far the part everyone remembers most.

But for some backstory, the Mother Mold is a Sentinel AI that is destined to set in motion events that end with the persecution and genocide of all mutant-kind. The X-Men, obviously, don't want this to happen, so they set out on a suicide mission to destroy it.

And it definitely earns its rank as a suicide mission, as two major characters are brutally killed off right at the beginning, and the situation only gets worse from there. Finally, it's up to Wolverine and Nightcrawler to sever the final tether connecting the Mother Mold to the satellite. Unfortunately, they'll have to do it at the source. Which is in space.

So yeah probably not coming back from this one. So after getting a teleport boost from a quickly disintegrated Nightcrawler, Wolverine spends his last moments saving all of mutant-kind by destroying the Mother Mold entirely.

Wolverine has died plenty of times in the past, but this is by far one of the best instances of it, as it features him going out by doing the impossible to save his people.
