10 Most Bizarre DC Crossover Events Since 2000
5. Wonder Woman '77 Meets The Bionic Woman
For the uninitiated, The Bionic Woman was a TV series that aired for three seasons from 1976 from 1978. The series was a spin-off of the popular Six Million Dollar Man TV show and revolved around Jaime Sommers (played by Lindsay Wagner), who had been made into a cyborg following experimental surgery.
Given the age of the property and how poorly the 2007 revival series went (it was cancelled after only eight episodes), it was already rather surprising when publisher Dynamite Entertainment began publishing their Bionic Woman comic series in 2012. Stranger yet, Jaime's new adventures were based on an unproduced Kevin Smith screenplay.
The cherry on top of the weirdness, however, was when the Bionic Woman teamed up with the Lynda Carter version of Wonder Woman (from the seventies TV series) in Wonder Woman '77 Meets the Bionic Woman.
This crossover honestly makes plenty of sense, given that Princess Diana and Jaime Sommers were the two biggest female TV icons of the 1970s. What makes it so weird to think about, however, is the fact that it was released in 2017, four whole decades since the shows originally aired.
That's like making a brand-new Adam West Batman movie with Captain Kirk as a guest star. Oh, wait...
