10 Most Brutal Acts Of Revenge In Comics History

9. Skurge Rejects His Friends (And Shoots A Lot Of Them) - The Mighty Thor

Red Hood Joker DCEased
Marvel Comics

It's easy to underestimate Skurge basically whenever you see him. Despite the fact the dude has gone toe to toe with the Hulk and not turned into mincemeat, he's often thrown in as a bit of an easy to beat mook, lacking any kind of real intelligence or a level of strength that could make him a genuine threat.

Indeed, this was sort of the way he seemed to be regarded in universe, as well, with even his supposed team mates and allies considering him a bit of dumb muscle. While you don't expect anything to come of it, it leads to some beautifully satisfying pay off in The Mighty Thor, where Scourge finally has enough of being put down and demeaned by those who are supposed to be there for him.

And so he decides to stand in Thor's place when the hero goes to guard the gates of Hel from his encroaching villain pals. Even cooler yet, he knocks Thor out to do so, implying he maybe could have taken the God of Thunder out this whole time if he'd been actually putting his heart in it.

I like my comics like I like my coffee - in huge, unquestionably unhealthy doses.
