It is fitting that one of Daredevil's most draining and humbling battles would come in the seminal Born Again storyline and at the hands of his most prevailing foe. The seminal Frank Miller/David Mazzucchelli arc saw Wilson Fisk orchestrate various events that would see the Devil of Hell's Kitchen hit new lows as a character.

Before this, Fisk and Murdock always had spectacular clashes and the former's immense size and strength served as a compelling counter to the latter's speed and agility, However, Matt was unable to solely rely on his skill and senses to take on Fisk in this story, as the crime lord had learned that he was Daredevil.

Systemically destroying his life (ruining his job, destroying his home, and hurting his mental health), Fisk was more than ready to take on Matt in a one-on-one battle. The desperate hero confronted Fisk in his office but the latter viciously beat him and locked him in a cab, which was then driven into the Hudson.
