As mentioned earlier, intercompany crossovers are often fun but uneventful. They're like nice distractions that give fans a chance to see their favourite characters interact, and of course trade blows. This was the case with 1996's DC vs Marvel, a wide-reaching event that pitted (and later merged) heroes and villains from the respective universes in various confrontations whose outcomes were decided by readers themselves in addition to the writers.
This saw entertaining yet mismatched fights such as Spider-Man vs. Superboy and Wonder Woman vs Storm. One fight that saw true equals go toe-to-toe, though, was the clash between Superman and the Incredible Hulk. The epic bout took place in the Grand Canyon and saw the Green Goliath land thunderous blows on the Man of Steel and vice versa, proving how much they were on a level playing field.
Eventually, Superman gains the upper hand and unleashes a barrage of blows on his opponent in a functional but vicious fight that secures his victory over the Jade Giant.
