10 Most Brutal Things Jason Todd Has Ever Done

8. Tortured The Joker - Under The Hood

Jason Todd Tortures Joker
DC Comics

Forget revenge being a dish best served cold. For Jason Todd, revenge is a dish best served with a crowbar to the skull.

The whole reason for Jason taking on the Red Hood moniker and becoming a vengeful, clinical, murderous tool of justice was largely down to his anger over Batman not avenging his death at the hands of the Joker. So, upon returning from the grave, one of this former Robin's most savage acts was kidnapping the Harlequin of Hate and torturing him.

On top of this, upon being confronted by Batman, Todd gave his former mentor the ultimatum of killing Jason or allowing Jason to kill The Joker. Batman being Batman, mind, he'd find a way around this courtesy of a well placed Batarang.

You can maybe argue that Jason's torture of The Joker was justified - after all, this is the one and the same Clown Prince of Crime who'd duped the teenage Todd into reuniting with his mother, just to get bloodily beaten and blown up - but it is still one of the most brutal acts he's carried out.
