10 Most Brutal Things Jason Todd Has Ever Done

6. Tarnished Batman's Mantle - Battle For The Cowl

Jason Todd Batman
DC Comics

After the death of Bruce Wayne during Final Crisis, the race was on to crown Gotham City's new Batman.

While Dick Grayson had zero interest in replacing Bruce in the cape 'n' cowl, a bloody, murderous, trigger-happy Batman turned up to kill off the criminal threat of Gotham. That brutal Bat, of course, was Jason Todd.

Tim Drake would become his own version of Batman, looking to put a stop to Jason's increasing body count. Unfortunately for Tim, his attempt to stop Todd saw him nearly get killed in the process, as the inevitable collision of Jason vs. Dick was lined up.

That victory would go to Grayson, and he'd remain as Batman for the best part of two years - even after the return of Bruce Wayne.

What was most interesting about this period in the history of Jason Todd, is this was one of the few times where the troubled soul was presented as a full-on, relentless, remorseless villain. If it wasn't down to a timely intervention from Damian Wayne, Jason would've murdered Tim Drake without even breaking a sweat. And Jason was likewise baying for blood upon being confronted by Dick.
