10 Most Brutal Things Jason Todd Has Ever Done

5. Crushed The Joker's Skull - Countdown To Final Crisis

Jason Todd Tortures Joker
DC Comics

In the Countdown to Final Crisis story, Jason Todd found himself on Earth-51 as part of the Monitor's plan to locate Ray Palmer.

Unlike the Gotham City we know and love, Earth-51's Gotham was a place of peace and harmony.

The morbid reality of that peace, is that the death of Earth-51's Jason Todd led to Batman murdering The Joker. And not just stopping there, for the Dark Knight would kill off each of his long-time rogues in order to achieve this dream of tranquillity and calm.

When the standard narrative Jason turns up on this Earth, Earth-51's Bruce Wayne hands him the Red Robin outfit that had been put aside for this alt-world's deceased Todd. But this developing bond between Jason and Bruce is shattered when the Earth-3 incarnation of Ultraman arrives and kills Bats.

Enraged, Jason takes his anger out on an alternative Joker - laying him out, then crushing his skull with a giant rock.

Soon after, Earth-51 would be destroyed, and Jason would finally have the blood of at least one Joker's death on his hands, having at several other points had the chance to kill the Clown Prince of Crime.
