10 Most Dangerous Places To Live In The Marvel Universe
1. New York City
New York City covers 302.6 square miles and is divided into five boroughs of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island. Within these boroughs are a number of famous and significant neighborhoods including Harlem, Hell’s Kitchen, Chinatown, and Greenwich Village, to name but a few.
Nearly every super team in existence in the Marvel Universe, including the Fantastic Four and the Avengers, and most of the freelance individual heroes operate out of New York. In fact, most operate primarily on the island of Manhattan. Superhero battles and destruction are such a common occurrence that an organization was created whose sole purpose is cleaning up after them and repairing the damage. It’s called, appropriately, Damage Control.
Despite it being seen as a city where “if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere”, there are few safe places for the everyday person to live in the Marvel NYC. There are gangs in Harlem, ninjas in Hell’s Kitchen and Chinatown, and goblins, rhinos, and sandmen in Manhattan. Plus there is a very real chance of being stepped on by a rampaging monster from under the ground, a world-devouring alien in shorts and a horned helmet, or a careless, size-changing Avenger.
