10 Most Dangerous Places To Live In The Marvel Universe
3. Krakoa
Krakoa was originally a mobile sentient mutant island in the Pacific Ocean. Professor Xavier detected its mutant signature and sent his first team of X-Men, who were captured, a second team, many of who were killed, and a third team who freed the first and defeated Krakoa by launching it into orbit.
Krakoa returned to Earth and Xavier used his powers to reach the inner intellect of the island. Xavier, with the help of mutant linguist Cypher, convinced Krakoa to become an island home for the mutant people. Its flowers created gates that allow mutants to travel from locations anywhere in the universe to the island and medicines were created from its plants that have made the mutant nation very wealthy and welcome in many parts of the world.
Krakoa is for mutants. If you aren’t one, you aren’t welcome. And even if you are, the fact that the law of the land is that no mutant can kill another hasn’t stopped the former villains from falling into their old patterns. Everyone, even Xavier and Magneto, has their own schemes and secrets and there is plenty of backstabbing going on, in both the literal and physical sense.
