10 Most Disturbing Comics Relationships

6. Magneto And Rogue

Harleen Joker Harley Quinn
Marvel Comics

While - mercifully - Rogue is an adult during her relationship with Magneto, that doesn't stop their tryst from being entirely weird on several levels. Firstly, Magneto is old enough to be her grandfather, and secondly he has also known her since his childhood, and served as one of Rogue's mentors from her teens to adulthood.

As someone with a pretty paternal role in Anna Marie's life, it seems completely morally corrupt - and also super, super gross - that at no point does Magneto appear to consider how sketchy it is to have a relationship with a woman he taught practically from childhood, to the extent that he actually proposes to her in the X-Men: Legacy series.

It's more than a little surprising that none of the X-Men ever refer to how dazzlingly creepy it is that one of their oldest teachers - and occasional enemies - totally has a thing with one of his ex-students.

That said, the 1963 X-Men comic suggested that Charles Xavier was in love with Jean Grey, so maybe Magneto just hasn't gotten the rewrite he so sorely deserves.
