After the bombshell was dropped in 2011 that the Joker had cut his face clean off in order to look just that little bit more creepy, Batman fans were left wondering what the villain could do next that wouldn’t fall flat. After all, it seemed like he’d reached peak disgusting - surely things couldn’t get any worse?

But worse is always possible when you’re a homicidal clown, and thus the Joker gets way, way worse in the Death of the Family, as he subjects every member of the Batfamily to their own private suffering.

Damian, however, is the one who gets the proverbial short straw, as he’s knocked unconscious by the Joker, and then covered in live bugs before the Joker prance around in his surgically removed face mask. Keep in mind that Damian is still, like, twelve, and it’s clear that the kid will need even more therapy than he already did after everything is said and done - and by god, he needed a whole lot in the first place.
