10 Most Emotional Wolverine Moments
1. Death Of Wolverine
Over four decades, Wolverine has died a fair amount of times. To name but a few, there was the time he was killed by a Sentinel in the iconic 1981 storyline, Days Of Future Past, the time when he was killed by Thanos in 1991's The Infinity Gauntlet #4, and also - of course - his demise in 2014's Death of Wolverine storyline.
However, as comics have a habit of conveniently resurrecting dead characters, it's fair to say that Wolverine's onscreen death was more significant than his comic deaths. It'd be impossible to have a list of most emotional Wolverine moments without mentioning the end of 2017's Logan.
It was the film that represented the fan favourite Wolverine better than any of his other eight big-screen outings. A fitting tribute to Hugh Jackman's seventeen-year tenure on the character, the film owes more to grim and bloody Western films than pulpy and colourful comic-book movies.
It's safe to say that the majority of the audience shed some tears when Logan was killed protecting his daughter from his savage clone, X-24. Many fans had spent their whole lives watching Jackman's Wolverine on screen, and to see a character they felt so emotionally attached to be killed in such barbaric fashion certainly justified the tears.
Although every Wolverine fan will have their personal favourite version of the character's death, every single version is devastating and brutal enough to have the right to be called the character's most emotional moment.
