3. Batman Receives A Letter From His Father

The best Flash Comics
DC Comics

The Flashpoint comics had absolutely everything you would want from a superhero story. Heroes battling their past demons, people having to redeem themselves, and the good guys overcoming insurmountable odds. The best (or saddest) was perhaps saved for last.

Right at the end, after an alternate universe Thomas Wayne is able to Barry to run back in time to change everything, he also gives the Scarlet Speedster a letter. A letter addressed to his son Bruce, who in this timeline was killed in the alley instead of his parents.

After straining every fibre of his Speed Force being, Flash is able to put the world back to the way it was (kind of). And then, he went to visit Batman.

Barry gives Bruce the letter where Thomas tells his son how much he loved him, how much he wished he could be there to see him, and how happy he was with the kind of man and the kind of hero Bruce became. I’m not crying, you’re crying.

After battling Galactus and pinning Hulk Hogan in the main event of Wrestlemania, I've taken a break from living in fantasy worlds, to focus on writing about them. I'm a comic book geek, a wrestling mark, a break dancer, and a scientist. One of those things may not be true.
