10 Most Iconic Spider-Man Covers - Ranked
6. Amazing Spider-Man #313
While it's hardly at the top of Spidey's "Must Read" list, Amazing Spider-Man #313 stands out from the crowd thanks to its amazing cover art. There's not a chance anyone could walk past this on the rack of your local comic book store without buying it.
There's not too much that happens in this issue. Even though the Lizard takes pride of place on the cover, his appearance is only a flashback rather than a new battle.
As a tie-in to the Inferno event, the book serves as nothing more than to compliment the main story that is unfolding across the various Spider-Man titles that were ongoing at the time. At this time, Dr Connors had finally gained control over his alter-ego, but with the invasion in full swing there was nothing he could do to stop the transformation this time.
Of course, It's Todd McFarlane again with this stunning and terrifying artwork, featuring the Lizard ready to tear Spidey's face clean off.
The bold colours and contrasting make this one of the best covers in McFarlane's entire career, but there's one more of his covers we are going to talk about later that deserves higher billing.
