4. He Made Archangel A Cannibal

Even in a case where he is saving the life of a teammate, Deadpool finds a way to make it a horrible experience for all involved. He was a member of Wolverine’s Uncanny X-Force team for a brief period of time. The team was created to take on the “black ops” jobs that the more visible X-Men shouldn’t be involved in. The team included Psylocke, Fantomex, and Archangel.

X-Force was sent to kill Apocalypse, who had reincarnated as a child. The team was quickly decimated in their first battle with a particularly brutal battle with the villain’s Horseman. Archangel suffered greatly in the battle having been turned into a withering husk of himself by Famine. Wilson was able to pull Warren from the battle and the pair retreated to a comically Deadpool-shaped tent to recover.

Needing to feed his famished teammate and having no alternative, Wade began to slice pieces of flesh from his own arm. These pieces apparently gave Archangel a small amount of Deadpool’s healing factor and allowed him to heal. Archangel became well enough to get to the Apocalypse child but couldn’t bring himself to kill him. Psylocke believes they can raise him in Utopia to be better but Fantomex shot Apocalypse in the head, ending the discussion.

John Wilson has been a comic book and pop culture fan his entire life. He has written for a number of websites on the subject over the years and is especially pleased to be at WhatCulture. John has written two comic books for Last Ember Press Studio and has recently self-published a children's book called "Blue." When not spending far too much time on the internet, John spends time with his lovely wife, Kim, their goofy dog, Tesla, and two very spoiled cats.
