10 Most Inappropriate Wolverine Storylines Ever
9. Forced To Join The X-Men - Original Sin
Wolverine: Origins #29 gave a slightly surprise revelation where it pertains to Weapon X's induction into the X-Men.
Previously, Logan ended up becoming part of Charles Xavier's band of merry mutants of his own free will. Sure, there were teething problems and plentiful butting of heads during those early days, but the Canucklehead was in the X-Men because he wanted to be.
In 2008, though, Daniel Way and Mike Deodato's five-part Original Sin gave an alternative spin on how Wolverine became a part of the X-Men.
There, it's explained via flashback how Professor X was an intended assassination target of Logan's. As the Canadian looked to enter Xavier's mansion, the X-Men creator mentally picked up on what was about to happen, allowed Wolverine to enter the abode, then brainwashed him.
Brainwashing is never particularly cool, of course, but making this even worse is that Charles accessed Wolverine's mind and forced him to become a member of the X-Men - all because Xavier wanted his team of heroes to have their own brutal, violent 'weapon' that they could unleash on any wrongdoers.
