10 Most Inappropriate Wolverine Storylines Ever

3. Trying To Sleep With Young Mary Jane Watson - Jump The Shark

Wolverine The Punisher Aim Low
Marvel Comics

While the basic concept behind the whole Ultimate Universe was to freshen up familiar Marvel Comics faces for a new audience, it's fair to say that several of these tweaked characterisations of old favourites didn't si all that well with the masses.

Step forward, Wolverine.

Sure, the standard 616 Wolvie had started off life as a Hulk villain before becoming a fully-fledged hero as part of the X-Men, but the Ultimate Wolverine forever felt like one of the bad guys even after becoming a part of the X-Men and Ultimates teams. Whenever Logan made an appearance, he always did or said something that caught the ire of long-standing fans of the character.

Released in 2004, Ultimate Spider-Man #66 and #67 provides a clear, jarring example of just why this version of the ol' Canucklehead was so poorly received.

Here, in an issue dubbed Jump the Shark, the Wall-crawler and Weapon X awaken one morning in the other's body. While Peter, in Wolverine's body, has to get to grips with having adamantium blades coming out of his fists, Logan is traumatised by having a Spider-Sense.

Where this goes particularly inappropriate, is at the tale's close. With Spider-Man and Wolverine both now back in their own bodies, a concerned Mary Jane Watson pleads with Parker, "That thing you tried to do this morning, can we not do that till we're older?"

Yep, the centuries-old Logan had used his time in Peter's body to try and have sex with a 15-year-old MJ.
