10 Most Intense Comic Books Of All Time

8. Superman #75

Captain America Iron Man Civil War
DC Comics

Superman #75 is likely the best-known single issue of Superman outside of his debut book and it's all to do with the storyline it concluded. This issue saw the end of the Death of Superman storyline, which resulted in a media campaign resulting in some of the best sales of a comic book in the history of the industry.

The book sold so well, it pulled in more than $30 million on its first day of sales. By the end of the print, the issue sold more than six million copies. This was a major achievement for the industry, but it was also an amazing issue for Superman fans.

This issue was the one that featured the death of a superhero... THE superhero in many people's minds. The fight that brought about the inevitable conclusion was massive and took the Man of Steel to his very limits.

The artwork by Dan Jurgens and Brett Breeding was so intense, it displayed the death of Superman in amazing detail. In many ways, this book helped and hurt the industry, but when you get right down to the story and artwork, this was little more than an amazing and intense Superman story.
