10 Most Ironic Deaths In Comics History
5. The Death Of Wade DeFarge
The events that led to Rose becoming the new Ravager happens as a result of some ironic circumstances surrounding Wade DeFarge’s death (who was the previous Ravager).
Rose was originally kidnapped by DeFarge to torment Slade, but Slade decided not to intervene. Years later, Rose would find herself living with a foster family, due to her mother dying during her rescue mission. It was at this point where Slade decided to renew his relationship with Rose by setting into motion a plan to kill her foster family.
Rather than do it himself, though, Slade actually hires DeFarge to do the job. He then kills Rose’s foster family, even though the Titans would soon arrive to protect Rose. Overall, though, everyone ends up knocked out by a trap set by Slade.
He then walks away with Rose in hand and takes her back to his hideout- where he convinces her to become his apprentice. Her first mission is to then kill DeFarge, and become the new Ravager.
The irony here is how all of this came to be and what happens to Slade, as a result. DeFarge might've killed Rose's new family, but really it was Slade who's responsible for their deaths. Then, to add insult to injury, Slade uses Rose's mission as a chance for retaliation against DeFarge.
Overall, it appears as though all of these events were meant to be when, in reality, they were all heavily coordinated.
