6. The Death Of The Greek God Ares
In the New 52 version of the “Wonder Woman” comic, there is an initial prophecy revealed that one of Zeus’ children would kill another, and take their place. This seems to take precedence in the story, due to how it affects Wonder Woman's journey to keep Zolla safe.
Another prophecy, however, is later discovered, and it comes to overshadow the first. Here, it's foretold that First Born (the literal first-born son of Zeus), would one day rule Olympus alone. The story then proceeds with the possibility that having this prophecy come true would be more damning to everyone in the long-run.
As such, Wonder Woman kills Ares to prevent First Born from fulfilling this prophecy, and he's subsequently left to Apollo - who becomes the new ruler of Olympus. All of this gives off the impression that both prophecies have been fulfilled in such a fashion that there are no dire consequences for anyone.
In reality, though, Diana killing Ares sets off a chain reaction that leads to him overcoming Apollo, killing him, and consequently replacing him as ruler of Olympus.
So, really, Ares dying by Diana's hand has the complete opposite effect, because it's this that allows First Born coming into his own and going on a killing spree that leaves many Olympians dead.
