The love triangle between Archie Andrews, Veronica Lodge and Betty Cooper has been a foundation of Archie Comics for over six decades. In 2009's
Archie #600, fans were shocked when Archie finally made the decision to marry the spoiled rich girl Veronica. The decision didn't last for very long and after the three issue arc concluded, an alternate version of the events were shown with Archie marrying the girl next door Betty instead. Predictably, the story turned out to be a set of It's A Wonderful Life style flash-forwards, ending with Archie trying to explain his bizarre experiences to his friends.
