10 Most OVERRATED Comics Of All Time

7. Locke & Key

There are a few comics in this article that are amongst this writer's favourite comics, and Locke & Key is amongst them. Telling a mature fairy tale of mystical keys and the family that protects them, Locke & Key is at times beautiful, other times horrifying, but always a compulsive read.

And yet, there's something just a little off about the whole thing. Characters move forwards in ways that seem a little illogical. Time jumps with no rhyme nor reason to the very next part of the story. It's not really a big issue when bingeing the comic in hardback format, but if you're reading issue to issue then it can be jarring when characters appear from nowhere, relationships grow without being shown, and background characters are suddenly promoted to main character status.

This is one strength that the Netflix show had over the comic, as it already knew who would become important and set them up early on rather than bringing them in just before they'd become important to the story.
