10 Most Powerful Batman Villains
4. Bane
Well this one is kind of obvious, admittedly. The first reason for Bane to be on the list is the most obvious one, too, the biggest moment in his introductory story Knightfall and probably the biggest moment of his entire existence thus far period: Bane is the one who broke the Bat. Literally, he snuck into the Batcave and slammed the Caped Crusader over his knee, snapping his spine in two. Pretty hardcore, and requires a fair degree of strength.
In later years Bane derived his power from the super-steroid Venom, but even when he got off the sauce, he was a force to be reckoned with. That's because that physique he has is mostly natural, and because it's not his only asset. If he was just strong he'd be lower down the list, adrift amidst Solomon Grundy and Killer Croc.
What put Bane head and shoulders above them is his mind. He's not only strong, but sharp, planning the exact moment to strike Batman, after he'd been worn down by other criminals Bane had been controlling. He's basically Batman but bigger, and more ruthless.
