3. The Batman Who Laughs - Dark Knights: Metal
The Batman Who Laughs is the most famous addition made by the Dark Knights: Metal event. He represents a biting, dark deconstruction of the idea of making Batman all grim and gritty by way of taking that idea to its logical extreme: "oh you want grim and gritty Batman? Okay, you asked for it!"
Batman Who Laughs is a version of Batman who got hit by Joker toxin, turning him into the ultimate unholy mix between the two characters, and the dark god Barbatos' most trusted lieutenant in his war against the rest of the multiverse, since he's just similar enough to normal Batman (compared to the other dark multiverse Batmen at least) to be able to predict his every move.
The only way Batman can beat a guy like this would be to bring in a wild card that even HE would never use: The Joker.
With The Joker teaming up with him to fight The Batman Who Laughs, the monstrous alternate Batman is unable to keep up with either of them due to him having relied too heavily on being able to predict what happens next. And you can't predict the thought processes of a mind like The Joker's.
