10 Most Powerful Beings Spider-Man Has Defeated

Spidey has fought Carnage plenty of times, but this might just be the hardest won battle against the psychotic symbiote yet.

When a small town in the American Heartland is taken over by Cletus Kasady, who turns almost everyone in the town into extensions of himself, Spider-Man, The Thing, Hawkeye, and Captain America roll up to take Kasady down.

And then Cletus just takes over all of the heroes except Spider-Man, sending the wall crawler on the run. Well... crap.

Well, after about five issues of running from Carnage, grouping up with Agent Venom and a crack team of government operatives who also use symbiotes, and running down Cletus, Spidey is finally able to put the psycho down and drag him off back to The Raft.

I put this here above the other fights against Carnage because to me it had the best mix of personal stakes and grand scale that maxi series like this really need. Carnage seems genuinely unstoppable, with an entire army of both henchman and hostages at his disposal, and Spidey really having to think outside the box and rely on his dumb luck to scrape out a win.
