Ultimatum Magneto Kills Wolverine
Marvel Comics

Red Skull and Magneto were destined to be enemies.

Johann Schmidt, hand-picked by Hitler himself to be part of his Nazi Science Division, and Max Eisenhardt, the child of Jews who were killed in concentration camps and who saw the horrors of the Holocaust up close. During their first encounter, Magneto locked the Red Skull in an abandoned fallout shelter.

In issue #9 of the ongoing Magneto title, it was revealed that the Red Skull grafted Charles Xavier’s brain to his own, giving him vast powers. The Nazi villain opened up a concentration camp in the remains of the destroyed island of Genosha to exterminate mutants. Magnus traveled there to confront the Skull, but due to his waning powers, he was captured. Schmidt’s lackey Mzee was about to torture the mutant but he was saved by Avengers Unity Squad members Havok, Rogue, and Scarlet Witch.

The trio of heroes tried to convince Magneto not to pursue the Red Skull and his “S-Men” but Max was having none of it. He even accused Rogue of betraying mutantkind and “abandoning Charles’ dream”. The Skull used his powers to immobilize the Avengers and taunt them, especially Wanda. He was unaware Magneto was free as Max took a dose of Mutant Growth Hormone restoring his powers... which he used to kill the S-Men and beat the Red Skull to death.
