10 Most Powerful Characters Killed By Thor

8. Ulik The Troll - Mighty Thor Vol. 2 #12

Thor vs Hulk Marvel
Marvel Comics

Despite being one of Thor's lesser known foes, Ulik the Troll is a powerhouse in his own right and rightfully earned his place in the deity's rogues gallery. His physical attributes match that of Thor's, and his 'Pounders' (brass knuckles made from Uru) are durable enough to cause planet-shaking earthquakes.

As a result, Ulik became a recurring foe for Thor over the years and always gave the Asgardian a run for his money during their encounters. However, his tenure as a brutish villain came to an unexpected close after he tried to impersonate a recently deceased Thor in Matt Fraction's 2012 run.

After Thor lost his life facing the Serpent (which will be touched on later), he was apparently reborn as Tanarus to the joy of everyone around except for Loki. It turns out that a memory-erasing enchantment was placed on the Asgardians and the God of Mischief was the only one unaffected by it.

Fortunately, Loki teams up with the Silver Surfer to rescue a recently revived Thor, who then battles his usurper and kills him.
