Doctor Otto Octavius is one of those characters who, for the majority of his supervillain career, didn't seem like a very threatening guy. Looks can be deceiving as this evildoer has certainly demonstrated over the years. Despite having no superpowers to speak of, he does command four prehensile tentacles, and they are not to be trifled with.

Those tentacles can do anything from carry him around, take him up and over buildings, throw cars, rip apart bank vaults, and even one time in an early issue, unmask Spider-Man! As a matter of fact, Doc Oc was the first person to unmask our hero, which makes him dangerous and unpredictable.

His superhuman intellect coupled with his ability to lift and throw items weighing several tons have been more than enough to go up against the likes of Spider-Man, but his most dastardly deed came at the very end of his life when his body finally failed him.

Instead of dying like any other respectful fellow, he transferred his consciousness into Spider-Man's body and vice-versa! He effectively killed Peter Parker and then took over his life as the new, Superior Spider-Man. This deed was unmatched when compared to any of Spidey's other villains, which sets Doc Oc apart as one of his most ruthless enemies.
