10 Most Questionable Comics Kickstarters

8. Queen Of Hearts (Goal: $2,200/Pledged: $121)

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1685499873/queen-of-hearts-0/description In a world where genetic cloning and altering is illegal, a special government force, headed by Queen of Hearts, is empowered with the law to exterminate monsters, mad scientists and terrorists by any means necessary. So far, so good, but this pitch doesn't explain the few wildly different, distorted sketches presented in the video: Queen of Hearts and her friends look different from frame to frame. Were different artists commissioned? The real problem, though, is that Jeff Donovan Wade's long, negative rant-- paragraph after paragraph about everything from the lack of support he gets from friends and family to the use of shaky-cam in Hollywood-- will leave you thoroughly underconfident that he'll follow through on his promises. That, and his reward tiers focus on tchotchkes while leaving the comic digital only and completely free, reducing the incentive to pledge for those who simply want the comic. His backup plan, to Kickstart the project one page at a time, is pretty questionable too. Finally, while the commissioned art looks decent enough, Wade's primary experience with writing is this strange Marvel fanfic, in which Iron Man is somehow an X-Man and Professor X is pretty unconcerned about property damage and loss of life.
