10 Most Ridiculous Supervillain Plots In Comics History

2. Most Green Goblin Plans

Norman Osborn is not good at plans. The Green Goblin is remembered as Spider-Man's all-time greatest villain, and is subsequently treated as such by all creative teams who have followed in the wake of €œThe Death Of Gwen Stacy€. Even getting to Spider-Man by offing his girlfriend didn't turn out to be that great of a plan. Because, really, what was there to it past making the webhead sad? Norman seemed to get his just desserts, then re-emerged decades later: apparently having faked his death, he then orchestrated the whole Clone Saga, where Peter Parker was tricked into thinking he was a clone of the original Spider-Man. Also, he stole Peter's baby. In the end, the Clone Saga ended with... the Goblin reappearing to reveal he'd been messing with Peter. The same thing happened in the recent Goblin Nation story where he got plastic surgery and then took over New York's criminal underworld, without much of an endgame planned out. The Goblin's plans are just labyrinthine Candid Camera pranks.
