10 Most Ridiculous Supervillain Plots In Comics History

8. Doctor Octopus Marries Spider-Man's Aunt

Nepotism has always been the way for Spider-Man's enemies to make their way up the supervillain ladder. Norman Osborn was replaced by his son Harry in the role of Green Goblin, and mother-daughter team the Bombshells caused trouble for Ultimate Peter Parker. Marrying into the wall-crawler's own family, though? Unheard of! And, honestly, kind of a weird plan. Doctor Octopus later claimed to be a €œsuperior€ mind to Spider-Man when he swapped brains with his nemesis, but if he was so smart he wouldn't have that bowl cut. Plus he might have considered that attempting to marry Peter Parker's elderly Aunt May as part of a confidence trick may not pay off. Even without knowing Peter was Spider-Man, he at least would have been aware of some connection between the two. Still, he persisted in trying to tie the knot with May after she inherited a large amount of money, intending to use the cash for all sorts of dastardly schemes. And that's how an issue of Spidey was about the hero ruining a wedding.
