10 Most Ridiculous Things Wolverine Survived

5. Becoming Weapon X

Weapon X is a US government project that was designed to create the perfect soldier.

The facilitator, Truett Hudson (who also happens to be Logan's cousin), believed the best way to create a living weapon was to genetically engineer a mutant. When Hudson learned that Logan was blessed with a healing factor, he saw him as the perfect candidate for the procedure.

Hudson had Logan beaten, drugged, and transported to his facility. As has been shown in Wolverine: Origins #7, Logan was strapped to an electric chair where he was repeatedly shocked in the cerebral cortex.

While his brain cells tried to regenerate, two scientists kept telling Logan conflicting information, filling his brain with false memories.

As excruciating as that experiment was, his torture was far from finished. Logan was then placed into a containment unit where Hudson's men injected every part of his body with liquid adamantium, binding it to his entire skeleton. Once the metal cooled, it became solid and unbreakable.

The operation was so excruciating, Hudson was surprised Logan survived (even though that was the entire purpose of Weapon X!). Logan managed to escape shortly after, but was traumatised from the experiment for decades.
