10 Most Ridiculously Overpowered Superheroes In The DC Universe

10. Orion

It's debatable whether or not the son of Darkseid, the epitome of evil in the DC Universe, is a cut-and-dried "hero", but he's spent enough of his life raging against his malevolent upbringing - and has served on the Justice League - that we think he's safe to include on this list. Originally created by Jack Kirby as part of his Fourth World saga, Orion was eventually phased into the mainstream DCU and has teamed up with Superman and pals to fight his dear old dad. Initially reliant on his "Astro Harness", which looked as much like an elderly person's stroller as it sounds, Orion has since developed to have the majority of the decent superpowers going. As a denizen of New Genesis he is immortal, invulnerable, super strengthened to the point that no man-made barrier can contain him, has a healing factor, and heightened agility and sense. He's been known to go toe-to-toe with Superman and Captain Marvel, and like the Man of Steel his only real weakness is a mysterious substance that saps his powers; in Orion's case it's Radion rather than Kryptonite that is his Achilles' heel. The only other weakness Orion suffers from is psychological. Having been raised by Darkseid to be a killing machine, whilst simultaneously trying to reconcile that with the more peaceful teachings of the New Gods, he has trouble with controlling his temper, and has been known to lapse into berserker rages. Which you could argue is another example of his ridiculous overpowering, because those rages only serve to make him even more formidable.
