10 Most Shocking Female Comic Costumes Of All Time

7. The New 52 Harley Quinn Design

Harley Quinn€™s original costume was awesome. Created in the '90s by comic book legends Paul Dini and Bruce Timm for the award winning Batman: The Animated Series, Harley Quinn€™s black and red harlequin design is striking, unique and iconic. It had all the makings of a respectable female costume. In fact, when the character first transitioned from the cartoon to the comics, her costume remained for the most part unchanged. Everything was great€ until The New 52 came along. Back in September 2011, when DC launched their brand-wide reboot, they tried to give many of their characters a modern face lift. When it came time to rework Harley Quinn, they decided to ditch her original, striking look and go for something more titillating for their readers. Harley now sports a red and black corset that is literally busting at the seams. Coupled with those ridiculous pigtails, this shocking New 52 Harley Quinn now looks like a child prostitute. DC has tried and tried to figure out how to use this character to no avail. Even now, Harley Quinn€™s book constantly depicts her in the cheese-cakey poses that don€™t display the heroic or villainous attributes of her character; rather, they depict her as sexually available bimbo.

Since childhood, Bryant has been an avid fan of superheroes, and he has been reading comic books since 2006. His full name is "George Bryant Lucas"; however, after enduring countless Darth Vader jokes, he has chosen to go by his middle name. Born and raised in the United States, Bryant is currently living with his lovely wife in the country side of Wiltshire County, UK. Bryant does suffer from a mild case of dyslexia; misspellings and homonyms are to be expected on occasion.
