7. Midnighter
Do not mess with Midnighter's husband.
Midnighter and Apollo were one of comic books' best gay couples. They were sweet, charming and crazy for each other, risking everything for the other's safety. So, imagine what happens when someone threatens that safety.
Midnighter is not your usual hero; think Batman but more brutal and without the commitment issues. He has little issue with permanently disposing of his enemies, whether that's with his bare hands or a bucket full of bullets. However, every once in a while, he likes to improvise.
When Apollo is beaten within in an inch of life and raped by The Commander, Midnighter does not take the news very well. In a fit of rage and revenge, it's heavily implied that Midnighter "penetrates" Commander with a jackhammer. We've seen other heroes go off the deep end when a loved one is hurt and/or killed, like Spider-Man after the attempted murder of Aunt May or Daredevil after the death of Elektra. However, it's fair to say this was A LOT more intense.
Almost like poetic justice if it was written by Quentin Tarantino. Long story short, do not mess with Midnighter's family.
